Meet The COaches & Staff
Alias "Paulette Huntesque"-world famous gymnastics comedian! Paul has coached in Utah since 1974. He was the coach of Utah's first Olympic level gymnast. He has coached many state, regional, and national champions. Paul has had many of his gymnast receive college scholarships for gymnastics, including the University of Utah. Paul was a national champion himself. He competed for the University of Illinois. In 1969 Paul was Illinois State All Around Champion, 1971 Big 10 Floor Exercise Champion, and 1972 National Floor Exercise Champion. In 1971, Paul started performing his infamous "Paulette Huntesque" comedy routines. It was a parody of women's gymnastics routines. "Paulette" evolved from coaching girls, and demonstrating what they were doing wrong, and how to improve. Paul has performed all over the world with his "Paulette" comedy routines. He has toured with many superstars of gymnastics such as; Olga Korbut, Nadia Comaneci, Mary Lou Retton, Kim Zmeski, Shannon Miller, and many others. Paul toured with the U.S., Russian, Romanian, and Chinese Olympic Teams. Paul has been featured on Wide World Sports and America's Funniest Videos. Jessica Hunt Santos
Daughter of the infamous Paul Hunt, Jessica has been involved in gymnastics since birth. At age seven, Jessica started competing in gymnastics. Over the years, she has won many awards at state and regional levels. With her dad being the famous gymnastics clown, "Pauletta Huntesque." Jessica had the opportunity to travel around the United States performing with him in the Olympic Tours. Jessica has been coaching gymnastics at Hunt's Gymnastics Academy since she was 14 years old & is now the manager. In 2007, Jessica joined an acrobatic team called The Xtreme Team. They perform at all the Utah Blaze home games. The Utah Blaze is Utah's indoor arena football team. Jessica graduated from the University of Phoenix with a business management degree in 2009.
Nikki competed from 1974 to 1978 as a Class 1 competitor under Paul Hunt. In 1978, she was a member of the first place, AAU Elite National Championship Team. Nikki started coaching for Paul Hunt in 1978. She has choreographed and coached many national and elite floor exercise and balance beam champions.
Janet grew up in Montana where she did gymnastics for 13 years and finished her gymnastics career as a level 8 gymnast. She started coaching at her local gymnastics school in 2004 and continued coaching there through college. In Montana, Janet was the head compulsory coach. She also worked with the preschool classes, recreational classes and the optional team. She graduated from MSU Billings with an Elementary Education degree and began working as a teacher. In June of 2014 her husband was promoted and they relocated to Utah. She has been working for Hunts since her relocation.
Lindsay has been coaching since 2008. She has had the privilege of coaching at Hunts Gymnastics for over a year now. Along with her background in gymnastics, she has a strong background in ballet, jazz, modern, and contemporary dance. She danced at Weber State University. In her youth she was a level 9 gymnast. Lindsay is currently a level 8 rated judge and is hoping to be rated level 9 by April 2016.
Dani started gymnastics at Hunts when she was six years old. She has been a competitive gymnast for 12 years now, achieving level 9. Throughout her competition career, Dani has qualified for regional meets and has competed in many meets outside of Utah. She has been on the honor roll since 2010 and is currently working towards a career in physical therapy. Dani enjoys spending time with friends and family as well as participating in anything active.
Brooke was gymnast at Hunts Gymnastics for 11 years until she graduated from high school. She loved being with the team every day and getting to compete. She loves traveling and spending time with friends and family. She is now attending the University of Utah studying business.
Annie Trentman has worked as an assistant coach at Hunt’s gymnastics since 2014, and hopes to continue doing so until graduating in the spring of 2018. She was a gymnast at Hunts Gymnastics for ten years before working, and was competing in level 7 before retiring. She hopes to work with children throughout and after her college career, and believes her experience at Hunts Gymnastics is the perfect beginning to her future.
Abby started dance and tumbling at a young age. She took rec center and studio classes all growing up. In high school she became captain of the Murray High Drill team, where she danced for three years. Abby spent her first year out of high school dancing on a competitive dance team, where she competed hip hop, jazz, contemporary, ballet, and lyrical. She also tumbled and was a substitute teacher for many classes there. She is thrilled to be a part of the Hunt’s coaching team and loves every minute of being at the gym!

Tallya was a gymnast for 11 years, competing for six of them for Hunt's Gymnastics. During those six years she won first place on beam at state in 2012, and first place all around at state in 2009. Since retiring from gymnastics, she has stayed in tumbling classes and become a cheerleader. Tallya is still passionate about gymnastics. She began coaching at Hunt's Gymnastics in August 2015. Coaching brings much joy into her life knowing she is helping her students improve in something they care about.
